EDGE Forum invites Proposals to conduct Workshops at the 4th edition of the annual Conference EDGE 2011 scheduled between 9 – 11 March, 2011 at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi, India.
Objective
The purpose of these workshops is to provide a platform for presenting novel ideas in a more focused and interactive way than the conference.
Workshops offers an opportunity for educators with common interests to meet in the context of a focused and interactive discussion. If you are working as a specialist in any area of the education, please consider organizing a workshop.
EDGE workshops should focus on engaging any of the following groups
- Top Management
- Administrative leaders
- Faculty members
EDGE workshops may address topics like:
- Pedagogy / Skill development
- Enhancing education delivery mechanisms
- Interdisciplinary Culture in Higher Education

- Step by Step integration of ICT in education delivery / campus administration / database management etc.

Workshops should generate ideas that will give the workshop delegates a step by step approach for a possible application in their institution.

Workshop Selection Process: Proposals will be reviewed and decided upon by a committee of experts.
PREPARING AND SUBMITTING A WORKSHOP PROPOSAL
The workshop submission should contain the following details:
a) 2 Page Proposal
The 2 page Proposal should describe the topic, the target audience, workshop objectives and the Workshop Instructors' backgrounds. The proposal should indicate the lead Instructor who will be responsible for communicating with EDGE Forum.
b) 3 Page Abstract
The 3 Page extended Abstract should contain workshop format for conducting the workshop (before, during, and after), including content that will be covered. It should contain a detailed plan of the conduct of the workshop.
c) Profiles of workshop Instructors in not more than 100 words.
SELECTION
Selection Criteria:
The workshop focus should be topical and contemporary.
Workshop topic's potential for generating stimulating discussions and leading to useful results.
Structuring of the workshop that includes various activities, case-studies, exercises discussions to engage attendees throughout the workshop.
Profile and experience of the Workshop Instructors.
Preparedness to provide workshop reference materials to the participants.
Note: If multiple submissions are received on the same or similar topics, the Instructors may be encouraged to merge them.
Communication of Selection:
Selected Workshops will be notified of acceptance or otherwise by15 October 2010. Instrutors of accepted workshops will receive guidelines on how to submit the final, publication-ready Abstract. The last date to submit the Abstract is due on 31st December 2010.
